Melbourne Osaka Competitors boats will depart Sandringham Yacht Club after final safety inspections. All boats will then berth at Waterfront City, Melbourne Docklands.

Saturday & Sunday March 17th - 18th 2007 - 11-4pm
Club Marine Come Try Sailing Weekend

If you ever wanted to try sailing then now is your chance.  Come Try Sailing activities for both kids and adults from 11am - 4pm will be held at Waterfront City marina in Optimist Dinghy boats, Pacer boats and Access Dinghy boats.

Jesse Martin Osaka School Programs

Jesse Martin will host a number of school excursions for students to learn about the yachts competing in the Melbourne Osaka Yacht Race and to hear stories from the competitors.  Please refer to school program page.

Club Marine Sail Boat Show

The Club Marine Sail Boat Show has previously been held at Sandringham Yacht Club (SYC) but is being relocated to Waterfront City due to SYC building a new Clubhouse in 2007 and also the show will be included in the Melbourne Osaka Boat Week.  The show is now in its 8th year and is one of the biggest events on the sailing calendar held in Victoria.  The show features over 100 exhibitor’s displays including in-water, boat show alley, hard stand and Off the Beach boats.  For more information on the show visit www.sailboatshow.com.au

Melbourne Osaka Yacht Race - Access Class Regatta
The Access Class Regatta will be held at Docklands Yacht Club from 11am-4pm.  The disability friendly Access classes are popular boats with Sailability programs around the world and an Access regatta has been organised in Docklands and Osaka to mark the beginning and completion of each race since the early 90s.  It was in Melbourne that Sailability was introduced to Australia in 1990 and Osaka was the first Sailability program in Japan, established with  strong support from the City of Melbourne.

Saturday 24th March 2007 - 12-4pm
Osaka Cultural Festival
The Waterfront City piazza will feature the Osaka Cultural Waterfront Festival from 12:00 - 4:00pm.  This event will be hosted by City of Melbourne.  The festival will be a great opportunity for visitors to enjoy traditional Japanese cultural activities and entertainment such as Bon-odori dance and tea ceremonies, orgami, Japanese music and cuisine, including Osaka specialties takoyaki (Japanese dumplings) and okonomiyaki (pancakes)!

Melbourne Osaka Farewell Concert and Fireworks
Waterfront City will come alive on Saturday night with City of Melbourne hosting a farewell concert and Fireworks display.  Casual berthing will be able for boats. 
Competitor interviews - 5pm -6:30pm
Killing Heidi - Acoustic session - 7-8pm,
Ceremonial Sunset (HMAS Melbourne) - 8-8:30pm,                                                       
Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows - 8:30-10pm
Fireworks - 10pm

Sunday 25th March 2007
Melbourne Osaka Double Handed Yacht Race begins
Farewell Ceremony (for competitors) - 9am-11am
Flying Fifteens Regatta (Vctoria Harbour) - 11am-4pm
Live Music (The Clares) 11am-1pm
The Melbourne Osaka Double Handed Yacht Race begins at 1pm from Station Pier 
Dragon Boats (TBC)
