| Expectations: | A very tough and challenging race. Hopefully a lot of fun also. | |
| Looking forward to: | Making a lot of new friends in Japan and Australia. A huge battle to see who will prevail in our division. | |
| Years sailing: | Since I was about 9 or 10. That's over 40 years. | |

| Favourite sailing experience: | Seeing the look in my son's eyes after he completed his first Sabot race. | |
| Sailing Achievements: | Nothing extraordinary. Just love competing and keep coming back for more. Ocean racing is a grand adventure. |

| Why did you choose to compete? | To promote my designs and to loose weight and to visit the most hospitable people in the world. | |
| Expectations: | About 6 kilos of weight reduction. | |
| Looking forward to: | Arriving safely in Japan and doing well. | |
| Years sailing: | Started at the age of about 8 years old. | |
| Favourite waters: | Red sea for diving. | |

| Sailing Achievements: | Have not been off the podium in the Osaka race yet and hope to do the same again. Achieved first place in the 1981 Single handed Trans Tasman yacht race. Boat deliveries half way around the world, two Nz to Fiji yacht races, one Sydney to Hobart and most of the East coast of Australia yacht races. |
